012:: You Can't Catch Me!

You Can't Catch Me, I'm the Gingerbread Man!
Whenever I see this holiday card, I can't help but smile. Making gingerbread men and building gingerbread houses always reminds me of my childhood. I can still remember my parents being so proud of my brother's and my creations..."Too beautiful to eat!" Now that we are grown, we haven't had our gingerbread creations in years...Maybe it's time to bring back the tradition! I can just smell the gingerbread in the oven now...YUM!

011:: Happy Holidays!

So several months ago, I entered a few designs into Minted's 2010 Holiday Card Spectacular. It was really such a great experience, not only because it got my creative juices flowing, but because one of my cards made it to the second & final round of voting! For the next several days I'll be unveiling all submitted designs to the blogging world...Ahhh the suspense! LOL.

010:: Notes From Holly St.

When my uber creative, talented, lovely, soon-to-be-mommy (yay!) friend asked me to help design her blog header, I quickly (and happily) went to work! It is always such a great complement when anyone asks for design help... and even better when they are so easy to work with, like G!

Well, after a long hiatus, I've decided to start freshening up a bit! Still working on a background and other little odds and ends. What do you think?

005:: Alphabeasties

I came across this book on the Anthropologie site. It's not only a fun play with type, but so cute! Also, you can't ever go wrong with a book from Chronicle Books!

004:: Cable & Cotton

I stumbled across this product from the UK on Oh So Beautiful Paper today. The link from Oh So Beautiful Paper brought me to a new blog read... You Are My Fave (I love finding new blog reads!)

I'm definitely bookmarking this Cable & Cotton product for my upcoming Yellow-Grey-Coral wedding! Don't you think it would look great on one or maybe all of the tables?

003:: Minted Design Challenge - Make A Wish Children's Birthday Party

This past May, I entered in my first Design Challenge. We were asked to create fresh, modern children's photo birthday party invitations. Although I did not place in the top, it was a great experience to get my designs out for the Minted world to see and now here they are for your viewing pleasure!

002:: Inspired by...

Sashi + Miko - Brooklyn thank you post card

I am always on the look out for inspiration. Here is an ever-so-cute find from one of my favorite blogs, Twig & Thistle. When one of my favorite friends asked me to design a thank you card for her ever-so-cute daughter, I quickly thought of this striped cardi... Don't you just love the colors and fun ruffles?

(The Fossil watch and wedge sandals are to die for too... Yum!!)

001:: Hello

I've always loved the movie, You've Got Mail. First attracting me to it by my love of 1990's Meg Ryan, then for the chick-flick-romantic-comedy-why-are-you-watching-THAT-movie-again quality, and now, for this quote::

“Sometimes I wonder about my life. I lead a small life. Well, not small, but valuable. And sometimes I wonder, do I do it because I like it, or because I haven't been brave? So much of what I see reminds me of something I read in a book, when shouldn't it be the other way around? I don't really want an answer. I just want to send this cosmic question out into the void. So good night, dear void.” -Kathleen Kelly; You’ve Got Mail
I am Kathleen Kelly. LOL. No, I was never a proprietress of a children's bookstore (although that would be cool), nor do I have an anonymous e-mail penpal. But I do love to twirl. I think daisies are the friendliest flowers. And I have wondered & have longed to be brave. The thought of "being brave"--being my own boss--has always crossed my mind, but was quickly replaced with uncertainty.  Since losing my job last year, the thought has slowly flourished (and is still flourishing) into reality. I have become (and want to become more) brave. I embrace uncertainty. I love to wonder. I am happy.
